Activities
George and Scott love their daily long walks and training, whether it's mantrailing, running, biking, stand-up paddleboarding on the lake, schasu, or ring training for dog shows. They live with us as full-fledged family members, accompany us everywhere, are well socialized, have regular contact with other dogs and people, and are good buddies with our three cats.
KAHU story
Our Life, Our Pack, Our Story
We, Priska and Beat, live on a peninsula near Lucerne, Switzerland, with our LAKESIDE PACK on a lake surrounded by mountains, forests, vineyards, and lots of wildlife. It’s a magical place with lots of spirit, and there’s even a legend about hospitality and gratitude.
We are KAHU’s from the Lakeside Pack:
These are Rhodesian Ridgeback Kijana Lion Daudi by George & Shurubu A-Team SCOTT by George and Chief Cat Jason Momoa, Cowboy Cat Lane Frost & Old Grandpa Cat Felice.
Two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and three cats.
I lived in Hawaii for a while and there I learned the meaning of a Kahu.
Living with your beloved furry friends was not about being the owner of your pet, but much more than that, you are their “Kahu.”
Basically, someone who is entrusted with the safekeeping and care of something valuable, often considered part of their soul.
Dogs have been part of my life since 1989. First, it was BALTO, a mixed-breed male dog who was a loving and very valuable companion and teacher in my life for twelve years. I still think of you with a smile in my heart, and after saying goodbye to BALTO, which was very painful, the beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback Dancing with Lion’s JACK came to us, and our great passion and love for the Rhodesian Ridgeback with its beautiful nature, athletic and muscular body, elegance, and presence began.
With JACK, we enjoyed nine wonderful, fun, and adventurous years. He was sensational. Rhodesian Ridgebacks don’t go in the water? Yes they do, JACK loved to swim every day in the summer, in the lake, and he even came with us on the sailboat. He was an all-rounder and taught us that Rhodesian Ridgebacks are versatile and talented. After his death, we were very sad. Jack, we will never forget you. You were and will remain unique to us forever.
We knew that we didn’t want to go through life without a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and sometimes life gives you gifts, and that’s what happened to us.
In 2020, we welcomed Mr GEORGE, Kijana Lion Daudi by George into our lives in 2020, and since 2024, Surfer Boy SCOTTIE, Shurubu A-Team Scott by George, has made our lives happy and complete. We thank Houda Portier-Houri and Petra and Michael Bossard for entrusting us with these precious and beautiful boys.
